Email: suleimanova-r@mail.ru In this article, some Turkic onomastic units have been considered in a comparative histori cal perspective, with their semantic basis defined along with their structural model. The author reveals parallels between the Bashkir and Turkic names in other languages. In the names corpus of Turkic languages including the Bashkir language, there exist such names to describe social relations as bey, Beck/biy, Tura, Tarhan, Khan/Sultan, Tighin, Mirza, ir, Alp and so on. This article examines some of them that later became the name-giving components in Turkic languages, including Bashkir. It is concluded t hat in the Turkic languages, including Bashkir onomastic space of personal names is derived from the ancient words bey, beg, Alp Sura etc .

Those constitute a special group and relatively active part of the modern list of names of the Bashkirs. As confirmed by the materials of the Bashkir genealogies, the word baj was established their most common title and subsequently the main component in Bashkir names .

It is concluded that the word baj is used in different meanings, for example rich, noble, many, share, sacred, particularly intended. The analysis also showed the component ish to be widespread in the Bashkir male names. This name forming component is used in prepositional and postpositional positions. In the modern names of the Bashkirs the component ish in different positions has been recorded in 60 male names. Although this gloss indicates masc uline gender and its motive wishes the child to be a helper and support, it can also be found in womens names (for example, Ishbika). It is emphasized that in the modern Bashkir language the ancient meaning of the word ir has not undergone significant changes and means hero, courageous. Phonetic variants in the Bashkir language of the word Bey: Bey, Biy, bi .
